This is an ongoing project.
Beautiful creatures came out of a want to create and play with the digital image in a new way, having created abstracted makeshift organic heart sculpture previously this became a less physical and more playful act of image alteration and basterdisation of the pig depiction. Beautiful creature created an avenue for sculpture creation in digital form allowing me to more easily work abstracted from the physical realm yet holding a physical feel to them. Drawing on montage artist Naro Pinosa's Collages, which create a great element of humour this series takes the visceral attention onto the form and texture over Pinosa’s humorous placement of the human body against inanimate objects, the unbelievable forms suggested by these works move towards the bizarre creating a sense of humorous disbelief, compounded by the intentional use of easy edit technology.
