The Art of Pig head Number 1.

Artist statement : 

My work involves examining the processes and materiality within art, and questioning established values of contemporary art within society - with specific relation to dead animals in art. Through examining the processes involved in creating works of art from animal remains, writing and engaging in discussions and public feedback the work attempts to call into question the validity of its very existence, the rights and wrongs of contemporary art and its own material reality’s. Evoking an internal or external dialog on the correctness of the work, the ethics and the validity as art of such works.

Through this project I employed the use of public feedback questionnaires, a Facebook page and various writing and group discussions to evaluate the progression and direction of the projects as a means of progressing.
